Last Day of DAILY Operations….BUT…

Sunday, April 8 will be our last day of DAILY operations…BUT Bonus Weekends are planned all the way into May…(weather permitting).

   When you say “bonus weekends”, will that be every weekend into May and does “weekend” mean Friday, Saturday, Sunday or just Saturday and Sunday? I was planning on coming skiing, Friday, April 20th. Does that mean you will not be open?

   Hi Tanya –
   I wish I could answer those questions definitively, but a lot depends on snow conditions. We plan to stay open on Bonus Weekends as long as snow/weather and business conditions permit. In past years, we have wrapped things up anywhere between the third weekend in April and the last weekend in May. We normally do Saturdays and Sundays, so that would probably not help on Friday, April 20th, but we are likely to be open Saturday, April 21 – Sunday, April 22. We are also discussing whether to add Fridays to our Bonus Weekend mix, and I will mention that we have at least one skier interested in a Friday visit : )

   Would please stay open for the Seattle are schools spring break which April 5th – 15th 2012. We like to skiing during spring break at our favorite Mt.

   Hi Mary –
   We appreciate your loyalty, but after some discussion, we decided to stick with our tradition of ending weekday operations the second Sunday of April. We do plan to stay open for Bonus Weekends (Saturday & Sunday, most likely) for as long as snow and weather conditions permit. We did discuss the feasibility of staying open an extra week but we don’t feel we can attract the level of interest necessary to cover our mid-week operating costs. We have had much more success at getting a reasonable number of visitors on weekends.

   I agree with the Spring break thing. I always thought in the past that you were open until April 20th each year. I was trying to plan on bringing my family for spring break too but you will be closed so I will have to look elsewhere.

   Hi Tanya –
   We have always ceased daily operations the second Sunday in April, that can range anywhere from April 8 – April 14th depending on where things fall on the calendar that particular year. After that, we operate weekends only for as long as conditions allow. With our isolated location, we simply don’t attract enough late-season mid-week business to be open 7 days a week at that time of year. We hope you’ll keep us in mind for a future visit. Thanks!
