Good Things Come to Those Who Wait…

121809.3WOW! Words can hardly express how great it felt to finally get back on the slopes today!

We had a couple hundred people waiting in line for ‘first chair’ and as you can see in this picture, they were super happy to be here!

These two guys, YT and Mike, were here EARLY…even before many of our employees! They have their bragging rights to protect, they’ve caught the VERY first chair for at least the last 5 years and wanted to be sure to continue their streak…

121809.1So, at 9:30 am on the button, the ribbon came down…

121809.19
and the 2009/2010 season was officially ON!

121809.4These guys are some of our most loyal (aka…frequent) visitors, so they knew better than to give our lift operators a hard time, instead, choosing to board the lift in an orderly….albeit…

121809.199“spirited”  fashion.

121809.6And our people were rewarded for their patience and unwavering devotion with soft, silky turns like this…

121809and this…

121809.7It was pretty foggy for most of the morning, but not too foggy for a photo op at the summit…

121809.9Or some action shots on Alpine…

121809.8These are early season conditions…Brundage style!

121809.91We picked up an inch of snow since opening today, and we expect some more impressive snow conditions over the weekend.

121809.92

So even if you missed opening day, it’s not too late to get some of those good things that come to those who wait.
