The Runs Less Traveled

Fresh snow and good friends always make for good times on the slopes. We got 2″ of fresh snow yesterday afternoon and another 3″ + overnight. (1-3″ more possible today).
The snow had a less-powdery consistency than what we’re used to here at Brundage, but as you can see in these photos, it was sweet, creamy goodness nevertheless.
On days like this, everyone is looking for the ‘fresh lines’ off-trail. As a local, an employee and a ‘snow reporter’, people are always asking me to tell them where all the great stashes are. Naturally, when one finds something truly rare and beautiful in the world, one is reluctant to share it. Today, I am feeling generous, and will reveal exactly where each of these sweet lines was found and each of these photos taken…
These two photos with the tele-master in red are from upper Sunnyside.
The lovely lady in blue is also on Sunnyside, where it wasn’t sunny today.
The two photos below are from skiers left of the Pleasuredome.
So there you have it. Two ‘insider’ secrets revealed. Here’s a link to our trail map to help you track those down. Oh wait, those runs aren’t on the map. Sorry! I guess you’ll just have to find your own secret stashes. When you do, be sure to swing through Mexico and tell me where they are.

When do you think they will put in those new lifts?

Hi Colton –
We haven’t made any specific announcements about new lift installations. We do have Forest Service approval for a lift to Sargeants in our Master Plan, but no firm installation plans as of yet.

OK, so I bought my first timer 09-10 pass near the end of last season and went enough times to pay for it!!! I’ve been three times this season so I ‘think’ I’m becoming a semi-regular even though I live in Clarkston so day trips start at 5am and end at 6-7pm… Back to this blog… who do I have to suck up to to find out about these ‘hidden’ runs?!?!?

Hi Dan –
I’m so glad you hear you are enjoying being a Brundage Pass Holder and seeing the value. My best advice is to hang out in Smoky’s Pub toward the end of the day and wait for someone covered in powder to walk through the door. Buying a beer for one of these folks is never a bad place to start….
