Season Extended Again – Last Day is Saturday, May 1
Brundage Mountain Resort will continue its remarkable run and extend the 2009-2010 winter season in to May, marking only the second time the resort has done so during its nearly 50 year history. Following the success of two Bonus Weekends already this spring, Brundage Mountain will remain closed mid-week and then open for its final day of the season, Saturday, May 1.
Brundage is able to continue operations into May because of a surge in snowfall which brought 19 inches of snow during the first 2 weeks of April, on top of two feet of snow that fell at the end of March.
Brundage Mountain will be the only ski resort in Idaho operating in May.
“We normally shut down after the second Sunday in April,” said resort spokeswoman April Russell. “But our slope coverage continues to be good, so we couldn’t resist staying open as many extra weekends as possible.”
The slopes are expected to be in great shape next Saturday. The weather forecast calls continued cool temperatures and for 5 to 10 inches of new snow mid-week, just in time to make closing day even better for all the die-hard skiers and boarders.
“We wanted to show extra appreciation to our valued season pass holders by staying open as long as we can, giving them as many days as possible to make some turns,” Russell continued.
Currently, the resort has a 39 inch snow base at the lodge and 64 inch snow base at the summit.
CHILDREN 11 & UNDER ARE FREE SATURDAY, MAY 1ST
Children 11 years of age and under are invited to come and ride the lifts for free at Brundage during the final day of operation, Saturday, May 1st. Brundage plans to run the Blue Bird Quad, Bear Chair and Easy Street Triple.
Additionally, Brundage will offer $44 full-day lift tickets to adults between the ages of 18 and 69. $27 full-day lift tickets will be offered to those between the ages of 12 and 17 and aged 70 or above.
END OF SEASON PARTY FOR ALL SKIERS AND RIDERS
Brundage will celebrate skiing in May, and the final day of the season, by hosting an End of Season Party on closing day. Food and beer will be served and the occasion will be used to mark the second latest closing in the resort’s history.

I moved to Idaho five years ago…and by luck, or chance (or whatever), I have been able to make it up for EVERY closing day at Brundage ever since! But, I couldn’t be there this weekend and was actually pretty upset about it…IT’S BECOME A TRADITION! When I checked your website tonight and found that closing day is not until May 1st!!! Woo-Hoo! I will definitely be there. Thanks for the extra day! Really! I can’t wait!

I’m so glad to hear you’ll be able to join us and keep your streak alive! It looks like we may even get some fresh snow this week. Woot woot!

Can’t wait to climb out of “mud season”, back into some fresh white stuff one more time before heading into summer! We can thank my wife for this week’s snow… She’s headed back from a business trip to the orient and always seems to bring snow with her! We’re ecstatic! See you all on Saturday!!! snow – snow – snow – snow – snow…..

Hi Gregg!
Isn’t it fun to see that lovely blanket of white? It looks like we could get quite a bit more before Saturday. Please tell your wife thank you from all of us!

Hey Skiers/Boarders, we are truly blessed. It’s a gift and we ought not squander it!! Let the games begin!
Here’s a big THANK YOU to upper management for allowing us all to have one more memory before we pull out the clubs.

Yes we are grateful for the extra ski day, but why charge full price for an adult lift ticket when only three chairs are operating? Hardly fair in my book.

Please be open Sunday as well! Please!

Hi Rita –
We aren’t charging full price for any of our full day lift tickets. Adults, Juniors and Seniors will get a $10 discount off the regular ticket price. Kids 11 & Under are free.

When was the last time Brundage was open in May?

April-
Me and my wife are stoked to be able to ski on more day this year, but we aren’t certain of te pass prices. What is cost of a pass this weekend with discounting for full and partial day?
April 30th, 2010 at 7:12 am
Hi Gary –
The only other time that Brundage has been open in May was during the 2007/2008 season when we had 428 inches of cumulative snowfall. That year, we were open on weekends until May 10th.

An adult pass will be $44, normally the full day pass is $54. There are no discounts on late arrival passes. However, it’s not too late to buy next year’s season pass…if you do that first thing when you arrive, you can ski Saturday for free.

i’m glad you extended it but wish it would have been for sat and sun. i’m in the car business and saturday is our busiest day of the week so i work every saturday and unfortunatly had to work last sunday so couldn’t make it. would have loved to go 1 more time but as saturday will be it i guess i will have to wait untill next year.

If you have a season pass that goes until April 30 do you have to pay for the day price? It is a season pass.

Any chance you will be open on Sunday… can’t make it Saturday and my daughter really wants one more day… It’s been a great season and just don’t want to see it end!

Hi Kara – great question. No worries, your 2009-2010 season pass will be honored on Closing Day.

Hi Everyone –
It’s great to see so much enthusiasm for spring skiing!!!! But… we really do have to draw the line somewhere. We’ve extended the season for as long as we can afford to this year. Closing Day is today, Saturday, May 1.
Unfortunately, we will not be open Sunday and we will not be opening Lakeview today. Please remember, our traditional schedule ends the second Sunday in April, and we’ve worked very hard to give you several extra chances to enjoy great spring skiing this year beyond our regular season. All other Idaho ski areas are closed, (most of them have been for quite some time) and we feel fortunate that we’ve been able to stay open this long and give our Season Pass Holders extra value for their passes.
