Adventure Learning: Let the World be Your Classroom

05/15/12

As our memories of the ski season begin to fade and the school year comes to a close, we want to salute a new program that we were proud to welcome to Brundage Mountain earlier this year.

The University of Idaho’s Adventure Learning program brought an expedition of high school students to McCall and Brundage Mountain for a full week at the end of March. The goal was to learn about snow science by combining active minds with active outdoor pursuits like skiing and snowboarding.

The students combined classroom studies with hands-on experience at Ponderosa State Park and here at Brundage Mountain Resort.

Check out the McCall Outdoor Science School blog to hear what the student adventurers had to say about the experience.

You can also check out this page for more information about how your school can turn learning into an adventure through the al@ui program or contact [email protected].
