March Powder

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

15 inches of new snow in 2 days is typical March weather in the Central Idaho Mountains.  Here are a few local powder lovers that shred top to bottom even in the worst of conditions, put some fresh snow under their feet and watch them tear around their home mountain in a way worthy of the Best Snow in Idaho.

Blue Bird Bonanza at Brundage Mountain

Friday, March 6th, 2009

18 inches of fresh snow since Monday, March 2nd.  11 of those inches in the last 48 hours, typical of Brundage Mountain.  Imagine 18 inches in 4 days accompanied by blue skies!  The result: another epic day at the mountain.  Once again more proof of Brundage Mountain having the Best Snow in Idaho.

Ode to the Unexpected

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

When fresh snow falls on Brundage Mountain, the untracked lines stick around for days after. When temperatures stay cold it only helps the snow conditions and enhances the light crystal powder. Brundage Mountain has the Best Snow in Idaho….even days after a storm!

Blustery Bliss

Friday, February 27th, 2009

The night brought snow and in the breaking daylight we all became witness, 5+ fresh inches!  With wind speeds reaching over 40 mph at the summit, we all reaped the benefit of the falling snow that accompanied.  The wind brought in the clouds, which brought in more snow, which was deposited in all the nooks and crannies of the mountain.   Cold temperatures followed the storm.  A day later, when our world became calm, the snow is in better shape than the day it fell.  There are still fresh tracks out there and will still be there through the weekend, so you could have it even better than what is shown here.

Powder Prayers Answered

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

Here it is…what we have all been waiting for….FRESH POW!!  Here is video proof that Brundage has the Best Snow in Idaho.  On Wednesday morning our snow markers read 4 inches of fresh snow…all of this video was taken on Thursday.  As you can see there is still plenty of untracked snow out there and it is still snowing.   Off trail is getting better by the second, and our groomed runs are holding up their soft smooth reputation.   Cool overnight temperatures are in the forecast so look for conditions to remain stellar throughout the weekend.  We invite you to come and make your mark through the trees or over the corduroy.
