Raft Trip Types ~ Salmon River Whitewater Rafting

Rafting Season is typically June to mid-September.

Brundage Mountain has been in the outdoor recreation business for nearly 50 years and operates with recognized pride and professionalism from all over America and around the world.

We offer an assortment of high-quality trips with the perfect mix of family fun-filled excitement and relaxation for all generations and ambitions.

Each trip starts at our office in Riggins. Roundtrip shuttling brings you back so you can dry off, change clothes (rest assured you will get wet), pick up a souvenir and look at photos of your whitewater adventure, which can be ordered for proof of survival. Wetsuits, booties, guide-style splash jackets, and fleece jackets are provided for your comfort at no extra cost.

Youth pricing is based on 8-12 year olds. *Prices listed do not include a 3% BLM Federal Use fee.

Half-Day Trip

You’ll float about 10 miles on the Main Salmon River. It’s the perfect trip for a taste of whitewater fun when your time is limited. Don’t worry, you’ll have plenty to tell your friends when you get home. Bring along a disposable camera so you can illustrate your story.

Full-Day Trip

A full-day trip usually starts at Spring Bar. You’ll float about 22 miles with time to explore along the river. On one of the numerous sandy beaches you’ll enjoy a delicious and filling lunch.

Two-Day “Beach” Trip

Float 39 miles of the Salmon River from Vinegar Creek to Lucile. Enjoy a gourmet Dutch Oven dinner and camp on a sandy beach with river sounds for a lullaby. Wake to the delightful smells of a good old-fashioned western breakfast before you stretch in the morning sun and prepare for another fun-filled day.

Four-Day Trips

This wonderful adventure combines 55 miles of rafting on the Lower Gorge of the Salmon River with a 20 mile Jet Boat ride on the Snake River through Hell’s Canyon. The Lower Gorge is a remote area featuring canyons and cliffs of fascinating color and formations. The rapids provide heart-pounding excitement. Between the rapids are calm stretches perfect for swimming and water play. You’ll tour two great river canyons by raft. For an extra $75 per person, a jet boat will pick you up on the Snake River for a different way to explore Lower Hell’s Canyon. This trip through the heart of Nez Perce country is especially great for families and is available during July, August and September.
